Here is a picture of Elder and Sister Moffitt at President Robinson's home for Thanksgiving.  We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with our president and wife and the senior couples in our mission.

Elder Moffitt and I have been assigned to work with our very small Hmong branch (Yes! There are Hmong people up here in Alaska!), and our branch president, President Lampert, took us and the other two missionaries to dinner at a Hmong restaurant near Eagle River.  We were lucky enough to watch the Hmong ladies preparing two darling Hmong girls (16 & 15 years old) for Miss Hmong Alaska pageant.  Interestingly enough, the national pageant is in Fresno!

LIGHT THE WORLD!

Light the World!
We have started our campaign to 'Light the World'.  Here are some things that we have done.
1- Elder Moffitt shoveled snow at the mission office before anyone got there.
2- Sister Moffitt  helped with the planning of our Hmong Branch Relief Society meeting.  She also made cookies for our Chugach Zone Conference meeting.
3- We have been working on familysearch in getting our ancestors' temple work ready.
4-Elder Moffitt shared a touching story of one of his ancestors' little 3 year old daughter that drowned many years ago and how he found her story on findagrave and we sealed her to her family.
5-We shared with other people their virtues about themselves that they do not see.

We invite you to view this video and consider ways that you can 'Light the World' through service.

Here is a calendar for the first 25 days of December to give you ideas on how to 'Light the World' by demonstrating Christmas Spirit!

We would love to see what everyone is doing to 'Light the World' this Christmas season.  We will put our pictures up as well!

Wild Game Dinner in Anchorage on Nov. 12th, 2016

Elder Moffitt and I were invited to a "wild game" dinner last night.  We were full of anticipation of what may be served, and we were not disappointed!  Here is what was served!

Yum Yum Yummy!

One of my personal favorites was bear stew!  I loved it!  What a surprise!  The halibut and salmon were fabulous too!

First Glimpse of Alaska from Our Plane on Nov. 11th, 2016

"As we left Salt Lake and Seattle and gaze out at the ocean islands and the mainland, we were filled with excitement, joy, some anxiousness, and yes a little sadness to leave our wonderful family.  But now as we look over these beautiful snow covered mountain peaks of our new home Alaska, we begin to feel a sense of awe and wonder of this wild beautiful land that we have come to!"

It almost looks magical with the snow at the top!  We would love to hear your comments of how you feel when you look at these mountain peaks!

President Russell M Nelson MTC Visit

Jane and I had the distinct pleasure to listen to President Russell M Nelson who is the President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on November 1st, 2016. He spoke about becoming more exact in following Christ's teaching that will enable us to enjoy all of the blessings that God has in store for us. We encourage each of you to gain a greater understanding of Christ's teachings.
President Russell M. Nelson shared these thoughts during a recent LDS General Conference:

Elder Moffitt and I spent Oct. 31st-Nov. 10th, 2016 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints' Missionary Training Center (MTC).  There we were trained and taught how to teach of Jesus Christ for those who want to hear our message, and since we are office missionaries, we were trained  how to perform office duties.  Here are some photos of our MTC  experience.

It was very joyful to see all of the young missionaries full of energy, enthusiasm, and exuberance!  I wish I could have half of what they have!  I loved seeing sisters and elders from all around the world; Japan, China, Tonga, Samoa, Russia and many other countries.  It was thrilling!

Here are a few pictures.  I do not know where Elder Moffitt was looking when we took a selfie!

Yes, Elder Moffitt is pointing to Alaska, and no, I am not pointing to Hawaii!  This is what happens when you are only 5' tall!  It looks like you are pointing to Hawaii and not Alaska!  Maybe that is my wishful thinking!  No!  I am so excited to go to Alaska!

Clint and I have finally made it to Utah!  Spent last night in my mountains with my kids and beautiful grandbaby!   I am so happy to be here!

I thought I had already posted this, but I didn't.  We actually arrive in Utah on Oct. 2nd, 2016.  Here is our precious one and only grandchild!
